High School Musical star and her jewelry

Vanessa Hudgens is loving her Icon pendant from the Diane von Furstenberg collection by H.Stern.

The High School Musical star has been sporting the 18 karat yellow gold knot medallion both on and off the red carpet.

In May Hudgens layered the necklace over a silky peach Max Azria gown at the MTV Movie Awards where she was nominated for Best Breakthrough Female & Best Kiss with boyfriend Zac Efron.

The previous month, the star wore the pendant to the LG Rumorous event held at the Andaz Hotel. She was also photographed out and about Hollywood wearing the Icon pendant with a basic black tank top and floral miniskirt in what was clearly a private moment – simply crossing the street.

The design is based on the Buddhist love knot and each Icon pendant is engraved with the words love and life. The 18 karat yellow gold necklace is priced at $2,800 U.S.

Like First Lady Michelle Obama is apt to do, Hudgens seems to be purposely wearing the piece before the cameras multiple times - a gesture that sends a strong message to fans that it is okay to be photographed in something more than once.

How refreshing and in keeping with these more socially-conscious times.
