Hollywood jewels in Washington

Does a complicated dress call for basic jewelry?

Not necessarily.

Eva Longoria Parker proved that when she wore a gown covered in clusters of pleats by Ports 1961. The event was the Annual White House Correspondents Dinner with the President and Michelle Obama expanding the guest list to include many Hollywood heavy–hitters.

The First Lady opted for a shock of colour with a minimalist Michael Kors sheath and floral statement necklace.

“The First Lady looked beautiful,” Donatella Versace blogged on Huffington Post. “It was so great to see a President's wife in a hot pink dress, a jewelled necklace with a pink flower and purple eye shadow.”

Parker’s upswept hairdo revealed a cascade of diamonds in a nature theme, echoing the romantic, lyrical mood of the dress.

The vintage diamond floral earrings and diamond bracelet were both from the Red Carpet Collection by H. Stern.

Natasha Bedingfield also wore H. Stern to the event, pairing diamond shoulder duster earrings and a matching bracelet with her silver siren gown.

Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Kate Walsh, Jennifer Westfeldt and Amber Valetta all wore Neil Lane, with Moore's diamond pendulum earrings swinging over a sleek toga-style gown.
