Yellow gold, white gold, pink gold - get ready to share the jewellery box with a stunning new hue. The latest collection from de Grisogono offers rings, earrings and watches in a delicious dark shade that it calls Browny Brown - though Brownie Brown, like the beloved chocolate squares, might have more appeal. De Grisogono describes the pieces as silky soft, warm, voluptuous and discreet. In keeping with that mood, the designs feature lots of spirals and curves. There is even a pair of drop earrings formed like corkscrews with orange and yellow sapphire "corks" suspended from the ends. Some styles feature white diamonds. Others combine the brown gold with pink, which seems to be the best gold to complement such a dark hue. To create its Browny Brown Gold, de Grisogono applies a unique process based on the well-known PVD principle (Physical Vaporisation and Deposition). The magic and alchemy of the metamorphosis of gold do the rest. And while we haven't laid our eyes on the pieces themselves, if the photos are accurate, the gleam of Browny Brown retains the unmistakable richness of gold.
