A fine watch is a classic Valentine gift, with its implied sentiment of eternal devotion. Make the message even more direct with a watch adorned with hearts. Longines offers La Grande Classique by Longines, a stainless steel quartz timepiece with diamond-set bezel. Roman numerals line the perimeter of the white mother of pearl dial except for one spot – 12 o’clock, which is replaced by a romantically curved heart. Even the softly curved X’s of the 9, 10, and 11 o’clock positions look much more like the symbol for a lover’s kiss than a straightforward numeral. And diamonds make this gift all the more appropriate for a Valentine with 48 VVS diamonds around the bezel of the 24mm model, and 72 VVS diamonds on the 37mm design. Gucci, meanwhile, has added hearts to its Twirl watch design. The Twirl watch has a round, rotating dial that swivels within a stainless steel cuff. The cuff is engraved with Gucci’s trademark diamond pattern, but in the Valentine edition, some of the GG logos are replaced by hearts. The watch comes in two sizes with pink or white mother of pearl dial, and with or without diamonds. The diamond version is $2,950 U.S. Without diamonds is from $985 U.S. KEYWORDS: luxury watches, designer watches, Gucci watches, Longines, valentine gifts
