Goldstriker International, a British firm that bills itself as the world's largest online boutique for bespoke gadgets, is launching a 24 gold and diamond iPhone. The family-run business, based in Liverpool, England, expects to launch the glitzy device this July 2008. Prices will range from £399 for the 8 GB gold edition up to £999 for the 24 carat gold and diamond edition. The Apple Logo will house 53 brilliant cut bright white diamonds totaling .36 carats in weight. The 12-year-old Goldstriker offers a wide array of customized electronics on its e-commerce website. A pink iPod Shuffle is laser-etched with a scrolling Renaissance motif and is dotted with diamonds that are promised to be a minimum of G colour and VS1 clarity. An iPod Nano is struck in solid 18 karat rose gold. Both are priced at £349.95. Products come with a certificate of authenticity that they are genuine Apple devices. Prada, Motorola and Nokia phones can also get the Midas touch. A snazzy leopard-striped white, yellow and black diamond Motokrzr goes for £14,005. Goldstriker products are available at Colette in Paris and at Eleonora Boutique in Rome. See www.goldstriker.co.uk for a complete list of retailers.
